Washington Middle School Teacher Alicia Feldmann Wins Outstanding Mathematics Educator Award

Alicia FeldmannWashington Middle School math instructor Alicia Feldmann recently was nominated and won the MCTM (Missouri Council of Teachers of Mathematics) Middle School Outstanding Mathematics Educator Award.

The award was established to recognize individuals who have given time, energy, and expertise to benefit the organization and to promote the improvement of math education across the state of Missouri.

The mission of the MCTM is to support all mathematics education and promote high quality instruction.

Teacher of the year awards are given annually at each of six levels – pre-service, elementary, middle, secondary, post-secondary, and mathematics coach.

Feldmann, who was nominated for the award by School District of Washington Educational Technology Specialist Amanda Schweissguth, has been with the School District of Washington for seven years. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology from Fontbonne University and a Master’s Degree in Education in Mathematics from Lindenwood University.

Feldmann will receive her award on Saturday, December 4, at the MCTM Conference in Columbia.
