Culture Night Held for English Learners Families

The School District of Washington’s Cultural Night was held on Thursday, May 11, at Washington West Elementary.

Each student designed a quilt square to add to the Diversity Quilt for their schools representing their culture and family. Each family also brought in a dish from their culture to share with the other families.

The event allows anyone who attends to taste the world and meet other EL (English Learners) families in the district. The parents were also asked for feedback on the EL program and suggestions for improvement. It was a successful event that embodies the mission of the EL program.
