Washington High School Boys Golf Competes Against Holt at Wolf Hollow

WHS Boys GolfThe Washington High School golf team opened GAC Central play with a home meet at Wolf Hollow Golf Club against Holt on Tuesday, April 2.

Golfers battled cold, wet and windy conditions, making it difficult to navigate through the back nine holes at Wolf Hollow.

The varsity match was decided by two strokes as Holt edged the Blue Jays, 169-171.

Leading the way for Washington was Alex Fregalette, who carded a nine-hole round of 41. Jackson Straatmann and Owen Zastrow both finished with scores of 42. Nick Lucido carded a score of 46. Aden Staples shot a round of 50.

In the junior varsity match, Holt defeated Washington, 190-200.

The Blue Jays were led by Eric Metcalf, who carded a nine-hole round of 40. Isaac Eckelkamp finished with a 48 followed by Luke Mauchenheimer with 53, Will Brickel with 59 and Brendon Rost with 63.

Washington boys golf is coached by Tim Buschmann.
