Augusta, Marthasville Choirs to Perform at Missouri Music Educators Association Conference
The Augusta Elementary and Marthasville Elementary Blue Jay Choirs, under the direction of Jon Logan, has been selected to perform at the 87th Annual Missouri Music Educators Association (MMEA) In-Service Workshop/Conference in January of 2025.
Augusta/Marthasville is one of three elementary choirs that were selected from across the state and one of only 32 band, choir, and orchestra ensembles to be selected to perform.
“To my knowledge, we are the first choir from the School District of Washington to perform at this conference. This is the same conference that our Wind Ensemble performed at last January,” said Augusta and Marthasville Vocal Music Teacher Jon Logan. “To put it in sports lingo, this is our state title. Our selection is a testament to the unwavering support of our administration team, Board of Education, the Washington, Augusta and Marthasville communities, and our hard working students. We are so blessed with such amazing talent in our district and I am excited to showcase that in January. We have already started rehearsals and I am excited to see what these kids can do.”
The Augusta/Marthasville choir will perform on Wednesday, January 29, at 11 a.m. at Margaritaville Lake Resort in Osage Beach.
