What Is The Junior WINGS Board?

The Junior WINGS (Washington's Investment in Great Schools) Educational Foundation Board supports the nonprofit, 501(c)3, corporation established to encourage and develop School District of Washington students through marketing, community outreach and fundraising.

The Junior WINGS Educational Foundation Board strives to create new opportunities for students by providing the necessary support for programs which are not or cannot be funded by the School District of Washington.

Members will serve one year and may re-apply each year.

  • Gain hands-on experience in identifying community problems, and creating the solutions

What Is Expected of Junior WINGS Board Members?

  • Meet once a month after school in May of the application year for planning
  • Meet once a month after school during the following school year (subject to change)
  • Regularly attend scheduled meetings
  • Be willing to volunteer at current WINGS events and help facilitate and attend newly created Jr. WINGS Board events
  • Help create fundraising and marketing strategies of WINGS in the community

  • School District of Washington students entering grades 9-12 in the upcoming school year
  • Students interested in gaining experience or wishing to contribute to a community organization
  • Students who want to learn more about themselves
  • Students who want to effectively learn to work with others
  • Students who want networking opportunities among peers and community
  • Students who are looking to work with others with diverse ideas
  • Students who want to have fun
