WHS Basketball Players Jaden Grosse, Emily McCormack Named KLPW, Missourian Athletes of Week
Washington High School basketball players Jaden Grosse and Emily McCormack are the KLPW Radio and Washington Missourian Athlete of the Week, respectively.
Grosse, a 6-3 senior guard, led the Jays to the consolation title at the Borgia Thanksgiving Tournament with a 2-1 record.
After falling to Borgia 70-52 in the opening round, Washington bounced back with wins over Pacific 39-28 and Owensville, 43-41.
Grosse, who represented the Blue Jays on the all-tournament team, scored 59 points over the three tournament games. He scored 28 points against Borgia, 15 points against Pacific and 16 points against Owensville. He added 13 points in Tuesday’s 53-32 win at Union.

McCormack, a 5-9 senior guard, nailed six three pointers and scored 19 points in the Lady Jays’ 47-27 season opening victory over Pacific.
“Emily has been a great leader for us to start the season,” said Washington Head Girls Basketball Coach Adam Meyer. “She has been more vocal and does a great job showing the younger girls the standard at Washington.”
