Lady Jays Begin Basketball Season By Splitting Games
Washington High School varsity girls basketball has opened its season with a pair of road contests against Four Rivers Conference opponents.
The Lady Jays (1-1) tipped off their season with a 47-27 victory over Pacific on Tuesday, November 26.
Emily McCormack had the hot hand for Washington, knocking down six three-pointers and finishing the game with 19 points. Hannah Obermark added eight points. Kelsey Brueggemann scored seven points.
Washington then dropped a 63-28 decision to Union on Tuesday, December 3. Obermark scored 11 points to pace the Lady Jays.
Other players on the Washington roster are Josie Kluesner, Karisa Latcher, Emily Schwoeppe, Keyanna Littrell, Aaliyah Williams, Callie Briggs, Layla Schafer, Nora Snider, Jazzy Heien, Nola Meyer, Harper Brown and Rielynn Murphy.
The Blue Jays are coached by Adam Meyer and assisted by Colin Flynn, Chad Briggs, Nicole Desmond, Rob Biesendorfer and Kelsee Crego.
