Grace Molitor, Abby Blackwell Named KLPW, Missourian Athletes of the Week
Washington High School softball player Grace Molitor and is the KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week and golfer Abby Blackwell is the Washington Missourian Athlete of the Week.
Molitor, a senior shortstop, is a four-year varsity starter and has played a major role in Washington’s three consecutive trips to state, including two state championships and a third-place finish.
Through 17 games this season, Molitor has a batting average of .377 on 65 at-bats with an OPS (on-base percentage plus slugging percentage) of 1.307. She has six home runs, 27 RBIs, 26 runs scored and 14 stolen bases.

Blackwell, a junior and two-time state qualifier, has had a strong start to the girls golf season.
In four of the Lady Jays first five matches, Blackwell has earned medalist honors with the top individual score. She carded a personal best 18-hole round of one-over par 72 at the 10th Annual Washington Tournament at Wolf Hollow Golf Club, taking first-place honors out of nearly 70 golfers. She also carded a personal-best nine-hole round of 29, six shots under par, against Warrenton on the back nine at Warrenton Golf Course on Wednesday, September 18.
