Washington High School Sophomores Participate in Service Learning Day
Sophomores at Washington High School participated in a service learning day on Tuesday, October 22.
Sophomores divided into small groups and along with a WHS staff member, visited businesses, schools and city landmarks in the community to help with anything that needed to be done.
Service learning is teaching method that combines community service with academic learning to help students develop civic skills and knowledge.
The service learning day aligns with the School District of Washington’s Connect Washington platform, where students are able to make contacts with community members and potential employers prior to graduation.
