WHS Football Player Jacob Bina Named Washington Missourian and KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week
Washington High School football player Jacob Bina is both the Washington Missourian and the KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week.
Bina, a senior wide receiver and defensive back, had five catches for 98 yards and two touchdowns in Washington’s 14-13 district semifinal win at Eureka on Friday, November 8.
Bina had a 10-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter and hauled in a dramatic 63-yard touchdown reception with 1:45 remaining in the fourth-quarter, which turned out to be the game-winning score.
Defensively, Bina finished the game with seven solo tackles and one assist.
For the season, Bina has 33 receptions for 595 yards and seven touchdowns to go with 63 total tackles and three interceptions. He also handles the punting duties for the Blue Jays, averaging 38 yards per punt.
Washington (8-3), winners of seven consecutive games, plays at Lafayette (10-1) in the Class 5 District 2 championship game Friday, November 15, at 7 p.m.
