Washington Wrestling Hosts Dual Boys and Girls Meet Against Ft. Zumwalt South
Washington High School hosted a dual boys and girls varsity and junior varsity wrestling meet against Ft. Zumwalt South on Wednesday, December 18.
The Lady Jays varsity team posted a 47-30 victory while the Blue Jays dropped a close 34-31 decision in a meet that was decided on the final match.
It was Washington wrestling’s annual alumni night, where former boys and girls wrestlers return and are recognized prior to the meet. Approximately 30 former WHS wrestlers were on hand for the event.
Competing for Washington’s varsity girls were Cydni Buchanan, Gracie Shaw, Lindsey Mueller, Abbie Weber, Gracey Garner, Jordyn Keiser, Lily Buchanan, Addi Kriete, Bri James, Maggie Ortmann, Ariyanna McGee and Gwenn Hillermann.
Competing for Washington’s junior varsity girls were Maycee Rion, Lane Lyons, Lille Houston, Aubrey Pecka, Karoline Norwood, Clara Frame, Kris Blankenship and CJ Trevino.
Competing for Washington’s varsity boys were Chase Houston, Gable Ohm, Ethan James, Landyn Rable, Noah Dooley, Cooper Bellman, Alec Pecka, Lane Gerling, Danny Williams, McLaine Graham, Nolan Hendrix, Wyatt Morgan and Mac Ruoff.
Competing for Washington’s junior varsity boys were Brody Pruett, Cash Vedvig, Peter Bush, Merei Kalaui, Jacob Buhr, Stuart Miller, Landon Aguayo, Curtis Broeker, John Brinkmann, Alex Deatherage and Trevor Pope.
Washington wrestling is coached by Josh Ohm and assisted by Jared Rennick, Mike Olszowka, Joe Omer and Spencer Neptune.
