Members of the Pride of Washington Band were selected to the 2024 University of Missouri All-Juniors Honor Band.

Representing the Pride of Washington are Layne Becker – Alto Saxophone, Maxwell Mueller – Euphonium, Owen Van Leer – Alto Saxophone, Eleni Kriete – Trumpet, Sarah Stewart – Clarinet, and Nick Smith – Euphonium.

These students were in Columbia for the event from Sunday, February 16, through the evening of Monday, February 17. Students from across the state of Missouri were nominated by their respective high school band directors and then selected for the honors ensemble by Mizzou School of Music faculty based on their high level of musicianship, leadership, character and professionalism.

The event provides 11th-grade band students the opportunity to experience the collegiate concert band environment through interaction with MU School of Music faculty and students. Juniors chosen for this Honor Band received instruction from both MU band and applied faculty members. The event culminated in a joint concert with the MU Wind Ensemble at the historic Missouri Theatre in downtown Columbia.
