Golf Blue Jays Win Home Opener Over North Point
Washington High School’s varsity boys golf team played its home opener on Tuesday, April 8, against North Point at Wolf Hollow Golf Club.
The Blue Jays, coached by Tim Buschmann, won the varsity match over North Point, 171-178, and lost the junior varsity match, 180-199.
Leading Washington’s varsity team was sophomore Dom Lucido, who captured medalist honors with a nine-hole round of 40.
Fellow sophomore Owen Zastrow and junior Eric Metcalf both posted scores of 41. Senior Luke Mauchenheimer finished with a round of 49. Senior Evann Dunn had a score of 60.
Washington’s junior varsity results were sophomore Ryan Carr with 46, sophomore Kellen McCormack with 47, sophomore Kaleb Chase with 50, sophomore Gage Freitag with 56 and sophomore Gavin Mitchell with 61.
