Washington High School baseball player Mason Theis is the KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week.

Theis, a senior right-hander, has been a bright spot on the mound for the Blue Jays this season. He often gets the pitching assignment against Washington’s toughest opponents. Entering the week, he owns a 1-3 record with a 1.75 earned-run average. In 20 innings pitched, he’s allowed 10 runs, five earned, on 10 hits with 14 walks and 26 strikeouts. He often plays the field when not pitching, mostly shortstop or second base, and contributes to the team’s offense with a .421 on base-percentage and six RBIs.
