Teaching Careers Program Hosts Ed Night
Students in the CAPS Teaching Careers program at the Four Rivers Career Center hosted Ed Night on Thursday, May 1, in the Confluence room at FRCC.
The Teaching Careers program is a two-year program for juniors and seniors looking to explore education as a profession. The Teaching Careers class, taught by Jenny Meers, is 10 years old. There are over 30 current teachers in area school districts, including the School District of Washington, who are program alumni.
This year, 19 students will leave with sub or para certification, and 28 students earned dual credit in the field of education.
At Ed Night, the program celebrated this year's graduates with a future teacher signing, a showcase of course projects, and an awards ceremony.
