Kelly Brinkmann, Local Artist and Author, Visits Washington Middle School Art Classes
Kelly Brinkmann, local author and artist, visited Danielle Snider’s art classes at Washington Middle School on Thursday, October 3, to speak with students about being a potter. She also shared her debut book, Art for the Soul: Growing Your Faith Through Creativity.
A potter is someone who makes pots, bowls, plates, cups, vases and other things by hand out of clay. They create both functional products and artistic pieces for display and decoration.
Brinkmann, also Vice President of the School District of Washington’s Board of Education, worked on a project with the students, who created their own pottery object under the guidance of Brinkmann and Snider.
