Washington High School hosted “Coffee With The Mayor” on Tuesday morning, October 15, in the library.

Washington Mayor Doug Hagedorn started the monthly event earlier this year as a way to have informal discussions with community residents and leaders about the city’s next generation of leaders — and what challenges and opportunities the future might present them.

Members of the School District of Washington’s executive leadership team was on hand, as well as board of education members, city leaders and members of the community.

WHS Principal Dr. Eric Turner also added to the discussion, as did Student Council and Leadership students.

Hagedorn and SDOW Superintendent Dr. Jennifer Kephart spoke about the importance of leadership in school settings, businesses, city groups and organizations and other areas of community involvement.
