Washington High School Computer Science Students Showcase Mobile App Creations
Students in Tim Zumsteg’s Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Computer Science class at Washington High School recently showcased their creativity and coding skills by developing and presenting their own mobile applications.
On Tuesday, November 4, WHS and School District of Washington administrators were invited to the WHS library to explore the students’ projects. During the event, attendees had the opportunity to test the apps firsthand and provide feedback. Some WHS teachers also brought their third-hour classes to join in the presentations and interact with the student developers.
Throughout the semester, PLTW Computer Science students planned, designed, and built their mobile apps from the ground up - learning each stage of the development process along the way. The finished projects included a variety of creations such as games, trivia challenges, and other interactive applications.
The showcase featured a roundtable-style setup, allowing guests to move freely around the room, test the apps, ask questions, and view the students’ coding work.
“The students developed some pretty cool programs this year,” said Zumsteg. “I’m very grateful to have a classroom full of students who are eager to work and showcase their skills.”
