Washington Middle School Students Win Dairy Council Video Challenge
Washington Middle School students in Kaylin Bade’s Farm to Table class were recognized for their creativity and teamwork after their video entry was selected as a winner in the St. Louis District Dairy Council’s Lactose-Free Dairy Challenge.
The class was one of four schools chosen from across the council’s service area, which covers 131 counties in Missouri and Illinois. Judges were especially impressed that the students made cheese from lactose-free milk as part of their dish.
WMS teacher David Dennis assisted with the filming and production of the video, which can be viewed by clicking here.
As winners, the class received several prizes, including a pizza party, $25 to reimburse grocery purchases used for the project, and a $100 Amazon wish list of dairy-related equipment and supplies for classroom use.
Students participating in the project were Ella Banderman, Lee Brakemeyer, Lilly Brewe, Skylar Cox, Nathan Francis, Kelsey Goodale, Alivia Hanneken, William Helfers, Rylee Herman, Katrina Kleinheider, Nora Koch, Kaylin Krausz, Mady Lingenfelter, Kaleb Longsdon, and Cayden Monzyk.
