Washington High School Curriculum Fair Scheduled for Wednesday, February 4
Washington High School will hold its Curriculum Fair on Wednesday, February 4.
The event offers families the chance to explore programs and courses available at WHS and includes a meet-and-greet for incoming parochial families, enrollment meetings for both parochial and public school families, and an Early College Program informational session.
In the Big Blue Jay Gymnasium, the Curriculum Fair will be set up so that families may explore the high school’s programs and courses.
The Curriculum Night schedule is as follows:
5 to 5:30 p.m., CJB Theatre – Washington High School welcomes rising ninth-grade (Class of 2030) parochial school families to come and meet with the WHS school counselors, previous parochial and now current WHS students, and administrative staff. This is an opportunity to discuss the enrollment process that is unique to students who have been attending local private schools, and hear from WHS students who attended parochial schools. Parochial school families may access the enrollment packets from their current school.
5:45 to 6:30 p.m., CJB Theatre ‑ WHS welcomes rising ninth-grade (Class of 2030) parochial and public school families to the CJB Theatre to meet the administration and guidance staff, discuss grades, earning credits, planning for the next four years and the process of registering for classes.
Enrollment packets will be delivered to all local parochial schools prior to Curriculum Night. Washington Middle School students will work on their enrollment processes with their school counselor throughout the month of February.
6:15 to 7:45 p.m. - The Curriculum Fair will be open in the Big Blue Jay Gymnasium. This is an opportunity to visit with faculty about programs and courses, including programs offered at Four Rivers Career Center. Students and families currently in grades 9-11 are invited to attend at any time between 6:15-7:45 p.m. Rising ninth-grade students (Class of 2030) and families are invited to attend following the 5:45 p.m. meeting in the CJB Theatre.
7 to 7:45 p.m., CJB Theatre – Early College Program Meeting – Class of 2028 students and families interested in obtaining information about the Early College Program through East Central College will meet. The Early College Program involves students who will spend the last two years of high school on the ECC campus and will graduate with both a high school diploma and an Associate’s Degree.
