Augusta Elementary Students Selected to SWACDA Treble Honor Choir
Two students from Augusta Elementary were selected to be part of the Southwest American Choral Directors Association (SWACDA) 4-5-6 Treble Honor Choir. Selected were sixth-grade student Bella Konefal and fifth-grade student Lorelei Evans.
Students submitted an audition via audio recording and were selected based on three screeners for each voice part, and all auditions were screened blind (by audition number only). Approximately 800 students from Missouri, Texas, Kansas, Colorado, Arkansas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma auditioned with about 200 being selected.
“This is a huge deal and such an honor to be selected for such a prestigious event,” said Augusta Elementary Music Teacher Jon Logan.
The students will travel to Albuquerque, New Mexico, March 4-7, 2026, to rehearse and perform with well renowned conductor and teacher Elizabeth Hogan and will perform music at the highest level.
“This will be a life changing experience for our students,” Logan said. “This is the fifth year in a row our students have auditioned and have been selected for a regional or national honor choir.”
