Six Candidates File for Three Open Seats on School District of Washington Board of Education
Six individuals will vie for three open seats on the School District of Washington’s Board of Education during the school board election on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.
Terms for board members Dan Leslie, Bob Orekovic and Rob Horvath expire in 2026.
Two incumbents and four newcomers filed for the Board, which closed on Tuesday, December 30.
Incumbents Leslie and Horvath were among the six individuals to file. Oreskovic will not seek re-election.
The four newcomers to file were Morgan “Mo” Hagedorn, Dr. Kirstie Holtermann, Heather Johnson and Emma Menefee.
Voters will select three candidates to fill the open seats during the April election.
Board members are elected to three-year terms.
Other current board members, in addition to Leslie, Oreskovic and Horvath, are Dr. Frank Wood, John Freitag, Kevin Blackburn and Kelly Brinkmann.
