Kindergarten Connection will give families the opportunity to get their future kindergarten students registered in the School District of Washington for the 2026-27 school year.

The event designed for students entering kindergarten in the 2026-27 school year will take place on Tuesday, February 10, at the student’s school of residence from 3:30 to 6 p.m. The inclement weather makeup date is scheduled for February 17.

Kindergarten Connection will allow families within the School District of Washington boundaries to complete the kindergarten registration process and turn in paperwork, meet the school staff, take a tour of the building, and pick up a Blue Jay yard sign.

Registration is for children who will be 5 years of age on or before July 31, 2026.

To register, parents/guardians should contact their school building secretary. Parents/guardians will be provided with an Invite Code for the Lumen Online Registration System to complete online registration.

Please notify the building secretary if you have already received an invite code for another child in previous years or if your child has previously attended any program provided by the School District of Washington.

To finalize registration, parents/guardians will need to provide copies of the child's birth certificate, immunization record and proof of residency (electric bill, mortgage statement, etc.) prior to the start of school in August 2026.

Kindergarten assessment will occur in the classroom at the beginning of the school year. Additional screening is optional through Parents as Teachers.

Students must reside within the School District of Washington boundaries.
