Washington High School Celebrates National FFA Week February 21-28
Washington High School is celebrating National FFA (Future Farmers of America) Week February 21-28.
Chris Dunard and Emily Kassebaum, WHS Agriculture Education instructors and FFA advisers, and their students will participate in activities at WHS.
National FFA Week: February 21-28, 2026
Week Long Activities:
- Canned food drive to vote for favorite tractor. Voting boxes in the guidance lobby area.
- Listen to KLPW to hear FFA Officers talking about FFA on the air.
Monday, February 23: Meals of Hope
- FFA members from Sullivan, St. Clair, Union, and Washington will package 52,000 servings of food to donate to local food pantries in Franklin County. Held in lower level of Elk’s Lodge from approximately 9 -11 am. Lunch provided by Washington FFA Alumni.
- Wear FFA Apparel Day
Tuesday, February 24: Career Fair
- Career Fair second through sixth hours in little Blue Jay Gymnasium.
- Agriculture Career Trivia – students answer questions to be entered for a drawing.
- Wear Blue and Gold Day
Wednesday, February 25: Cherry Pie Day & Official Dress Day
- Members are responsible for bringing in two cherry pies to share with faculty and staff and community supporters.
- Members wear Official FFA Dress
Thursday, February 26: Tractor Day, FFA BBQ for Faculty, Staff and Members, and Barnwarming
- Tractors parked behind West Wing before 7:30 a.m. Judging starts at 7:30 a.m. Students return to class after judging is complete. Parade at beginning of seventh hour at 2:40 p.m.
- BBQ Lunch during fourth hour in Agriculture Shop.
- Barnwarming FFA Dance at 6 p.m. in the shop.
- Wear FFA T-Shirt (Club Photo Day)
Friday, February 27: State FFA Officer Visit – Ceirra Britton
- Fifth through seventh hours will meet with State FFA Offiicer during class.
- Wear jeans and FFA Jackets day.
