Market Value Assets

Market Value Assets

A Market Value Asset (MVA) is a cornerstone experience that prepares a student for future learning and employment. MVAs are authentic previews of the world of work or post-secondary education. While the professional and academic worlds are ever-changing, the outgrowths students develop when they work on authentic projects with real employers and mentors are durable enough to benefit them throughout their lives.

The School District of Washington has partnered with community businesses through our Connect Washington Program.  Our vision is to ensure that each student has an opportunity to explore their career passions and interests through experiences in our businesses and industries prior to graduating Washington High School, while connecting careers and essential skills throughout the K-12 classrooms.  Through this program we are able to connect students to local internships, apprenticeships, client-connected projects, or entrepreneurial ventures.

Students who graduate from the School District of Washington with one or more Market Value Asset obtain a Diploma Plus or a Diploma Plus Distinction, which recognizes students who excel academically, professionally, and personally during their high school journey.

Diploma Plus is a reflection of the evolving needs of today’s world. By integrating academic rigor with real-world experience, Washington High School is preparing students for life beyond the classroom. This distinction sets graduates apart in college applications and the job market, showing that they possess not only knowledge but also practical skills, dedication, and a commitment to excellence.

As Washington High School continues to innovate, Diploma Plus stands as a beacon of opportunity for students to thrive and showcase their unique capabilities. It’s more than just a diploma—it’s a celebration of hard work, passion, and future potential.
