Labadie Elementary Holds Relay for Littles
Labadie Elementary held a Relay for Littles on Wednesday afternoon, April 16.
Student council students at Labadie came up with the idea to have a small relay for life event for students in grades K-2 to give them a taste of what the Jordan Scheer Children’s Relay for Life event at Washington High School is like each year.
“We thought that since K-2 students are a part of the fundraising for events at our school, but aren’t old enough yet to attend the actual Relay, this would be a cool way to let them share in the experience,” said Labadie Elementary Student County Advisor and Sixth-Grade Teacher Mike Jinkerson.
The Relay for Littles at Labadie Elementary featured games and activities, popcorn, cotton candy and water for the K-2 students. They event walked laps to start the event, similar to what is done at the high school event. Photos are below.
The Jordan Scheer Children’s Relay for Life, for students in grades 3-6, is hosted by the Washington High School student council and is scheduled for Friday, April 25, at WHS.
