Washington Middle School, High School Student Councils Earn State Honor
The Washington Middle School and Washington High School student councils were both recognized with the Honor Council Award at the Missouri Association of Student Councils (MASC) State Conference held in Branson.
The Honor Council Award is the highest distinction presented by MASC and recognizes student councils that demonstrate excellence in leadership, service, and student involvement. Schools must meet a comprehensive set of criteria and submit an application documenting their efforts to qualify for the award.
The designation highlights student councils that provide meaningful opportunities for student engagement while promoting leadership development and school spirit throughout the year.
For Washington Middle School, the recognition marks a historic milestone, as it is the first time the school has received the Honor Council Award.
Students representing Washington Middle School at the conference were Cecilia Clarke, Ava Sullenger, Hannah Thomas, Amelia Timpe, Briella Bickmeyer, and Morgan Murphy.
Students representing Washington High School at the conference were Natalie Metcalf, Emily Russo, Layla LaBeaume, Reis Cowsert, Macie Cowsert and Maeve McCarrick.
