WHS Baseball Player Henry Vedder, Track and Field Athlete Caleb Moritz Named Athletes of Week
Washington High School baseball player Henry Vedder (KLPW Radio) and track and field athlete Caleb Moritz (Washington Missourian) have been named athletes of the week.
Vedder, a senior pitcher, is 1-1 on the young season with a 2.33 earned-run average. In nine innings pitched, he’s allowed three earned runs on eight hits with 13 strikeouts and five walks. At the plate, he has a batting average of .333 (six hits in 18 at-bats) with four RBIs.
Henry will continue his baseball career at Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama.
Moritz, a junior, won three events at the Montgomery County Early Meet, the 100-meter hurdles, the 300-meter hurdles and ran the anchor leg on the 400-meter relay. His 110-meter hurdles time was a personal record.
