Washington Boys Golf Competes Against Borgia, Ft. Zumwalt North
The Washington High School boys golf team played a Ryder Cup match against Borgia on Friday, April 10, at Franklin County Country Club.
Teams divided up into groups of two during the meet.
In the varsity contest, Borgia won the meet over the Blue Jays by a score of 217-227. The junior varsity contest ended in a tie, 274-274.
Leading Washington varsity was the team of Owen Zastrow and Dom Lucido, who carded an 18-hole round of 70. Mason Laune and Kellen McCormack carded a round of 78. Eric Metcalf and Ryan Carr finished with a score of 79.
Playing in the JV meet for Washington were Clayton Gibson, Caleb Storie, Kaleb Chase, Gavin Mitchell, Drew Busekrus and Luke Busekrus.
Washington varsity won a dual meet against Ft. Zumwalt North, 165-172, at Wolf Hollow Golf Club on Thursday, April 9.
Individual varsity scores for the Blue Jays were Lucido with 37 (medalist), Zastrow with 39, Carr with 43, Metcalf with 46 and Laune with 53.
