WHS, FRCC Senior CJ Trevino Earns Gold at SkillsUSA State Competition
Washington High School and Four Rivers Career Center senior CJ Trevino earned a gold medal in the SkillsUSA State Welding Sculpture Competition on Saturday, April 10, qualifying her to compete at the national level.
With the first-place finish, Trevino will advance to the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference, which will be held in Atlanta, Georgia, during the first week of June.
Trevino’s accomplishment highlights her skill, dedication, and craftsmanship, as she competed against top welding students from across the state.
“CJ has represented our district at the highest level, and I couldn’t be prouder of her,” said Four Rivers Career Center welding instructor Dan Kemper. “Her professionalism, determination, and attention to detail made her a state champion, and I have very high expectations for her at the national level as well. I would like to send a big thank you to the support staff at Four Rivers Career Center who helped prepare her for this. It was truly a team effort.”
