Washington High School Senior Jack Henderson Named St. Louis Post-Dispatch Scholar Athlete

Washington High School senior Jack Henderson has been named a St. Louis Post-Dispatch Scholar Athlete.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch Scholar Athlete program is a long-running recognition sponsored by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that highlights top high school seniors across the St. Louis area.
One student from each high school in the St. Louis area is selected for the honor. Students are selected for excelling in both academics and athletics.
Henderson has earned an appointment to the United States Naval Academy, one of the nation’s most prestigious and selective military academies. The appointment recognizes Henderson’s outstanding achievements in academics, leadership, character, and commitment to service.
Henderson has been highly involved during his time at Washington High School through Student Council, Leadership, National Honor Society, Link Crew, Junior WINGS, soccer, football, and track and field.
He was an all-state track and field medalist as a junior, finishing fourth in the Class 4 boys high jump after clearing 1.99 meters (approximately 6 feet, 6 inches).
Jack is the son of Russell and Susan Henderson. He plans to study mechanical engineering at the Naval Academy and will report to Annapolis, Maryland, on June 25.
