Washington High School soccer player Sammy Williams is the Washington Missourian Athlete of the Week.

Williams, a senior forward, has played a key role in the Lady Jays’ current six-game winning streak. She’s tied for the team-lead with 12 goals and leads the team with seven assists.

“Sammy consistently demonstrates exceptional attacking instincts and composure and has the ability to create opportunities not only for herself, but for her teammates,” said Washington Head Soccer Coach Jalynda Vodnansky. “Her vision and unselfish play are evident in her assists and her finishing ability and confidence make her a constant threat to opposing defenses.”
