School Safety and Standard Response Protocol (SRP)

Standard Response Protocol (SRP)

The School District of Washington prioritizes the safety and well-being of all students, staff, and visitors.

To support this goal, we have adopted the Standard Response Protocol (SRP) developed by the I Love U Guys Foundation. The SRP provides a clear, standardized set of actions for schools to follow during any emergency, ensuring swift and consistent responses that can be easily understood by everyone.

The protocol is based on five key actions: Hold, Secure, Lockdown, Evacuate, and Shelter. Each action is communicated through a common language and is designed to quickly organize the school in response to various situations. These protocols empower students, staff, and first responders to work together effectively in any emergency, enhancing overall school safety.

By implementing the SRP, we provide our community with an easily understandable, efficient framework that reinforces preparedness, communication, and a strong focus on ensuring the security of all individuals within our schools.
