Washington's Evie Bryson, Madisen Meyer Named Washington Missourian Athletes of the Week
Washington High School tennis player Evie Bryson and softball player Madisen Meyer are the Washington Missourian Athletes of the Week.
Bryson, a senior and returning state qualifier, currently owns an 8-1 record and has led the Lady Jays on the tennis court in both singles and doubles competition.
Bryon has led Washington to the Gateway Athletic Conference North-Central title this season.
“Evie provides great leadership to the team with her work ethic,” said Washington Head Tennis Coach Bill Stahlhuth.
Meyer, a sophomore catcher, owns a batting average of .534 and a slugging percentage of .810 through the first 20 games of the season. She leads the team with 31 hits.
“Madisen’s hitting, along with her defense behind the plate, makes her one of the top players in her class in the St. Louis area,” said Washington Head Softball Coach Grant Young.
