Soccer Blue Jays Notch Win Over Pacific, 2-1
The Washington varsity boys soccer team picked up a home victory over Pacific at Scanlan Stadium on Monday, September 30.
The Blue Jays scored a pair of goals in the first half and held on for a 2-1 victory.
Scoring goals for Washington were Jake Prater and Chase Humphries. Isaac Eckelkamp and Chris Jenner both had one assist.
Colin Briggs played the entire in match for the Blue Jays, registering 10 saves.
Washington, coached by Brian Dougherty, owned a 2-8-1 record heading into a home contest against Maplewood on Wednesday, October 2. The Blue Jays have been competitive in most of their games with three of their losses coming by one goal and another by two goals.
Washington opened the season with a 5-1 win over Sullivan. The Blue Jays’ tie came against Holt, 0-0.
The junior varsity game between Washington and Pacific ended in a 1-1 draw.
