Washington High School basketball player Jaden Grosse is the Washington Missourian Athlete of the Week.

Grosse, a 6-3 senior guard, is averaging 19.9 points per game through Washington’s first seven games, leading the Blue Jays to a 6-1 record and a six-game winning streak heading into Friday’s home contest against Ft. Zumwalt South.

Grosse scored a career-high 29 points on 13-16 shooting in the Blue Jays’ 62-27 win over Sullivan on December 10 and followed that with a 24-point performance in a 72-41 victory over North Point on Tuesday, December 17.

During the Blue Jays’ six-game winning streak, they are 5-0 against Four Rivers Conference teams (two victories over Owensville and wins against Pacific, Union and Sullivan) and currently stand with a 1-0 record in the GAC Central after defeating North Point.
