Marthasville Elementary Teacher Jessica Monroig Receives Blue Jay Pride Award
Jessica Monroig, kindergarten teacher at Marthasville Elementary, is the January recipient of the Blue Jay Pride Award.
The Blue Jay Pride Award was introduced to recognize and showcase quality School District of Washington staff and the focus on the District’s core beliefs. Through peer nomination, individuals are able to acknowledge exceptional staff who positively impact the schools, district and community.
The individual who is recognized each month will be presented with a traveling plaque and a gift card.
Monroig’s nomination form stated the following:
“Jessica demonstrates continuous dedication to her kindergarten students and a true commitment to collaboration and growth. Jessica consistently seeks out new strategies and meaningful lessons to engage her students and meet their diverse needs. Beyond the school day, she dedicates countless after-hours to thoughtfully planning lessons that are both impactful and enriching. She also finds time outside of school to participate in her own professional development through an additional course of LETRS over the summer (early childhood) and her countless books that she is reading, all in attempt to create the best learning environment possible. We all see firsthand the difference her extra time and care make in the education of our students. Her willingness to learn, grow, and share her knowledge not only benefits her own classroom, but also strengthens our entire school community. Jessica truly embodies the spirit of collaborating to share, learn, and grow, and most importantly what it means to be a Blue Jay.”
Monroig was presented the Blue Jay Pride Award traveling plaque by SDOW Superintendent Dr. Jennifer Kephart. She also received a gift card from First State Community Bank, represented by John Freitag.
