Washington's Zastrow, Lucido Play at MSHSAA Class 4 Golf Championships

Washington High School golfers Owen Zastrow and Dom Lucido competed at the MSHSAA Class 4 Boys Golf Championships on Tuesday, May 19, at Columbia Country Club.
Monday’s first round was rained out, meaning instead of the traditional two-day, 36-hole tournament, the event was reduced to one day and 18 holes.
Playing on the par 71 course, Zastrow finished in a 10-way tie for 27th place with a round of 79. Lucido finished in a four-way tie for 77th place with a round of 86.
“Owen is a consistent, measured and talented golfer. He will continue to develop and get better,” said Washington Golf Coach Tim Buschmann. “Dom is focused and a risk taker. He wants to get better and will. He has a picture perfect swing and is long off the tee.”
The Class 4 state champion was Poplar Bluff junior Landon Barks, who fired a five-under 66. The second-place score was 70. Poplar Bluff won the team title.
Zastrow and Lucido, both juniors, made their second straight appearance at the MSHSAA Golf Championships.
It marked the final Washington meet for Buschmann, who will retire.
