The School District of Washington welcomed incoming superintendent Dr. Cassandra Suggs during a community Meet and Greet event held Sunday, May 31, at Washington High School's CJB Theatre.

Students, staff, families, friends, and community members attended the open house-style event, which provided an opportunity to meet Dr. Suggs and learn more about her as she prepares to lead the district beginning July 1.

Throughout the afternoon, attendees visited with Dr. Suggs, shared their excitement for the future of the district and offered a warm welcome as she prepares to return to the School District of Washington.

Dr. Suggs also addressed those in attendance, thanking the community for taking the time to attend the event and expressing her excitement about the future of the district. She shared her enthusiasm for building relationships with students, staff, families and community members and emphasized her commitment to supporting student success.

Dr. Suggs was named the district's next superintendent earlier this year following an extensive search process. Her connection to the district makes her return especially meaningful, as she previously served students and families in the School District of Washington early in her educational career.
