Board of Education Appoints Tiffany Stecko to Fill Vacant Seat

The School District of Washington Board of Education has appointed Tiffany Stecko to fill a vacant seat on the Board following a special application and selection process.
The vacancy occurred after the forfeiture of a Board seat pursuant to Article VII, Section 6 of the Missouri Constitution. To fill the position, the Board invited interested community members to submit applications for consideration.
A total of five individuals applied for the appointment. The Board reviewed and discussed all applications during an open session meeting held on Thursday, June 4. All five applicants attended the meeting.
Following discussion and consideration of the applicants, the Board selected Stecko to serve in the position. After the appointment was approved, Stecko was sworn into office and officially joined the Board.
"We appreciate the willingness of all five applicants to serve our school district and community," said Board President Dr. Frank Wood. "The Board was fortunate to have several qualified individuals express interest in this important role."
Stecko will serve on the Board until the April 2027 election. At that time, she may choose to run for election to complete the remainder of the unexpired term.
