Jon Logan, music teacher at Augusta Elementary and Marthasville Elementary, has been named the Outstanding Director for the East Central District by the Missouri Choral Directors Association (MCDA).

Logan received the honor during the association's annual summer conference in Springfield. The Outstanding District Director Award is presented annually to recognize exceptional choral directors from each of MCDA's districts across the state.

The award recognizes educators who demonstrate excellence in choral instruction and performance, leadership within their school and district music programs, service to the profession, a commitment to fostering student growth and achievement through music education, and positive contributions to Missouri's choral community.

Each MCDA district selects one Outstanding District Director, making the recognition one of the organization's most meaningful peer honors. Recipients are nominated and selected by fellow music educators who have witnessed their impact in the classroom, on the concert stage, and throughout the profession.

The Missouri Choral Directors Association is the state affiliate of the American Choral Directors Association and is dedicated to advancing choral music education throughout Missouri. The organization supports educators through professional development, honor choirs, conferences, awards and leadership opportunities.
