Washington High School honored longtime coach and educator Jim Ogle and Wolf Hollow Golf Club with induction into the Washington High School Athletic Association Hall of Fame Class of 2026 during halftime of the Blue Jays’ varsity football game at Scanlan Stadium on Thursday evening, September 3. 

Ogle was recognized for decades of service to Washington High School students and athletics as an educator, coach and public address announcer. Wolf Hollow Golf Club was inducted as a contributor for its longstanding support of the Washington High School boys and girls golf programs.

A longtime Washington High School coach and retired educator, Ogle dedicated 31 years to teaching math and science, including 25 years at Washington Middle School and six years at Washington High School.

His impact on Blue Jay athletics extends well beyond the classroom. Ogle has spent 43 years coaching boys and girls track and field at Washington High School and continues to coach. He also has served on the cross country coaching staff and previously coached boys and girls basketball.

Ogle also has been a familiar voice on Friday nights, serving as the public address announcer for Washington High School football for 43 years. During that span, he has missed only one game and continues in the role today.

Earlier this year, Ogle also received the Missouri Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association Distinguished Service Award for his significant, long-term contributions to high school athletics.

Ogle and his wife, Terri, a longtime educator, have two children, Alex and Jamieson, both of whom he had the opportunity to coach.

Wolf Hollow Golf Club

Wolf Hollow Golf Club was inducted into the Hall of Fame in the contributor category for its significant support of Washington High School golf.

Wolf Hollow supports the WHS boys and girls golf teams by hosting practices, home matches and several 18-hole invitational tournaments during the regular season. The course also has hosted numerous GAC Conference tournaments and postseason district tournaments involving the Blue Jays.

Wolf Hollow helped support the establishment of the WHS girls golf program 12 years ago and has supported the boys golf program since the course opened in 1999. The club also has hosted the Washington High School Athletic Association Booster Club Tournament for more than 20 years.

Representing Wolf Hollow Golf Club during the induction were Doug Warden, Clayton McGowan and Oscar Buesking.

The Washington High School Athletic Hall of Fame was established in 2021 to recognize individuals, teams and contributors who have made significant contributions to Blue Jay athletics.
