The Washington High School varsity cheerleading team earned first place in the Class 4A Large Division at the Missouri Cheerleading Coaches Association (MCCA) St. Louis Regionals on Saturday, September 19, at Francis Howell North High School.

Members of the competition team are Chelsea Barrington, Autumn Beste, Summer Day, Abby Goebel, Zoe Holtmeyer, Isabella Jones, Kyra Knudsen, Claire Koch, Izzy Koopman, Natalie Koopman, Addison Lutes, Ella Mueller, Grace Owenby, Lexxie Owens, Annie Rogers, Aubrey Schmitz, Kaitlyn Schmitz, Carmen Snider, Riley Snider and Hayden Starkey. 

Washington Cheer is coached by Hannah Boehmer and Shauna Boehmer.

“We asked the girls to leave it all on the mat, have fun, and be proud of themselves when they walked off the floor, and they did exactly that. They gave their best, supported one another, and performed with so much heart and confidence,” said Hannah Boehmer. “As coaches, we couldn’t be more proud of the hard work, dedication, and effort they put into their performance. Watching them step onto that mat and give it their all made us so proud to be their coaches. We love you all.”

Washington will next compete at the MCCA State Championship on October 24-25 at the University of Missouri in Columbia.
