Lockout
A lockout means schools are operating as usual, however, all outside activities are suspended and students and staff will remain inside the buildings. No one is allowed to enter or exit the building without proper authorization.

Lockdown
A lockdown means schools are not continuing daily functions, students are not permitted to leave their classrooms. No one is allowed in or out of the building.
