Washington High School softball player Maddie Kluesner is the Washington Missourian Athlete of the Week.

Kluesner, a junior center fielder, led the Blue Jays this season in batting average at .485, hits with 50, runs with 50 and stolen bases with 32 while batting in the leadoff spot. She had an on-base percentage of .555 and a slugging percentage of .621 while adding 28 RBIs. She also had a perfect fielding percentage in center field.

Kluesner, who bats left-handed and throws right-handed, was named to the MHSFCA All-State Class 4 second team and the GAC Central first team.

The Lady Jays finished the 2024 softball season with a 21-10 record and were GAC Central champions with a 10-0 mark.
