Campbellton Elementary Nurse Sue Shockley Receives Blue Jay Pride Award
Sue Shockley, nurse at Campbellton Elementary, is the April recipient of the Blue Jay Pride Award.
The Blue Jay Pride Award was introduced to recognize and showcase quality School District of Washington staff and the focus on the District’s core beliefs. Through peer nomination, individuals are able to acknowledge exceptional staff who positively impact the schools, district and community.
The individual who is recognized each month will be presented with a traveling plaque and a gift bag.
Shockley’s nomination form stated the following:
“We are truly lucky to call Nurse Sue ours at Campbellton. Nurse Sue goes above and beyond each day for our students. Our students start their day by being greeted near the main entrance with a warm smile and a hug. Sue is always nurturing and kind when working with students. She truly cares about the whole child and truly cares about each and every one of them. Sue takes her time to build long-lasting relationship with our students, staff, and their families. Sue does an amazing job taking care of students' needs on a daily basis. When Sue is working with families, you can see her calm and caring personality puts them at ease. She listens carefully and takes concerns seriously to offer the best care to our students and even staff when needed. Sue handles high stress situations with the same outstanding care. She thinks quickly and jumps right into action. She is an amazing nurse. Sue helps out in all of our culture building activities and helps make Campbellton feel like a home. We are very lucky to have her at Campbellton for so many different reasons.”
Shockley was presented the Blue Jay Pride Award traveling plaque by SDOW Superintendent Dr. Jennifer Kephart. She also received a gift card from First State Community Bank, represented by John Freitag.
